“When I first started out over 30 years ago, people would expect to speak to a man when looking for the boss. That attitude has started to change, with men realising that women are a force to be reckoned with - that we should be taken seriously,” she says. Still, working harder and smarter is oftentimes exactly what is needed to come out on top: “Doing business like a woman is precisely what makes you so powerful,” Pearl explains, emphasising the importance of playing to your strengths and taking charge of your daily routine. 

While it would be difficult to argue that the life of a Scheme Executive isn’t busy, it’s this flexibility and autonomy that makes it such a strong choice for women who need to juggle all of life’s adventures and responsibilities. It makes sense, then, that the number of women in the field continues to grow. This positive growth holds good news for those wanting to explore this route, as there is a strong network of like minded individuals to offer advice and guidance - an essential component of career success.
