Steady stream of sales for PE’s new Westbrook development

Properties are currently being snapped up at Westbrook, an exciting new master-planned suburb adding significant allure to the rapid westward expansion of Port Elizabeth. Amdec Development Director, Cobus Bedeker, says they had anticipated that there would be significant interest in the Westbrook offering but had not foreseen the overwhelming response they’ve received so early in the lifecycle of the development.

"The market is responding very positively,” he says, “five of our nine completed family homes forming part of our first residential security estate, ranging in price from R1mil to R1.5mil, have sold!” The new 128ha suburb of Westbrook will comprise a total of nine secure residential estates. Each estate will provide a wonderful variety of homes catering to a diverse range of needs - plus a retirement lifestyle estate and charming retail village office component, leading medical facility and ‘town centre.’

“Westbrook house prices represent a sound long-term prospect,” says Steve van Schaik, Sales Manager for Amdec, pointing out that the suburb’s strength also lies in the opportunity it provides for those looking for a better, more enjoyable and more secure way of living, close to the city and with attractive lifestyle amenities, recreation and leisure facilities on every homeowner’s doorstep.

“Westbrook’s already established Curro School is also a drawcard for young families,” he comments. “Whilst the suburb’s proximity to the new Bay West Mall, as well as the excellent track record of the development team, are amongst other factors that are influencing purchasers.” Key players on this mega-development provide substantial credibility to the Westbrook offering.

National Property Development Company Amdec brings the full weight of its expertise in creating spaces that pragmatically embrace the foremost international trends and inspire tomorrow’s lifestyles. Absa Capital are a 25% shareholder in the development, whilst Clifford Oosthuizen, former developer of more than 550 quality homes in Port Elizabeth, under the well-known Smallville brand, has taken up the role of Contract Manager for Amdec.

Despite the overwhelming initial response to the development, Bedeker says Westbrook will continue to exceed potential homeowners’ expectations by quickly responding to purchaser demand. He says they’ll continue to provide a full spectrum of facilities catering to the ‘live, work, play and learn’ vision behind Westbrook and are committed to ensuring that no prospective buyer’s interest goes unanswered.
