Johannesburg, SA (May 11, 2021) – Specialist building products brand marketer Shelley Galliver has joined Eva-Last as Marketing Director. With more than two decades of brand-building experience in the sector including at Dawn Limited, Holcim and PG Bison, Galliver’s mandate is to strategically position the Eva-Last product portfolio and brand globally as the company ramps up its international distribution.
With a proven track record of introducing brands to market, Galliver has held several director-level positions managing both corporate identities and product segments. She has strong experience in varied distribution models and a wealth of expertise in building brand presence in Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Eva-Last CEO Marc Minne says Galliver’s background in building materials for prominent market brands presented a significant opportunity for the South Africa-based group. “With the Eva-Last portfolio now represented in more than 30 countries globally, we are on a quest to accelerate the building of our brand around the world. Shelley’s level of experience and successful track record in the building materials sector is exactly what we were looking for, given our brand ambitions.”
Galliver becomes the Eva-Last group’s first dedicated marketing director as the company celebrates its 15th year of operation. “What drew me to Eva-Last was the founders’ passion for the business, the strength of the company’s research and development and the environmental sustainability ethos they have embraced,” she says.
“It’s not just about the products – it’s also about the other benefits that come from using bamboo instead of hardwoods to prevent deforestation and using recycled plastics that could otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The broader brand proposition really spoke to me. I’ve been fortunate to work for some other South African brands that have taken their products to a global stage, but it is truly inspiring to see how Eva-Last has created a product range that is so relevant to the rest of the world.
“Eva-Last’s products have showcased South Africa as being at the forefront of R&D in the building products sector, with an enviable track record of developing world-leading patents. I want to bring my experience in taking products to market in Africa and beyond, to grow not only individual product awareness but awareness of Eva-Last as a company. So much good work has already been done by the original team and I am looking forward to helping Eva-Last position itself for the next phase of its international growth,” she adds.
