Johannesburg, SA (November 4, 2020) – Leading international bamboo-plastic composite (BPC) building products group Eva-Last has appointed Kevin Bonner as Director for One-Step Distribution.
With two decades in various roles in the industry with listed security company Trellidor, Bonner brings a wealth of experience in building and optimising distribution channels in the South African context.
Eva-Last founder and VP Global Sales and Marketing Nathan Chapman says he regards Bonner’s arrival as a major feat for the company. “Kevin is very highly regarded in the building materials industry and has a well-documented pedigree leaving as National Business Development Manager for Trellidor, so we are excited to be able to leverage his experience as we embark on the next phase of our growth story. Kevin is a key asset to the business and a significant strategic addition to our leadership team.”
Bonner says a chance meeting at an industry trade show via a mutual customer stoked his interest in the Eva-Last story. “Through my career I realised I love the hunting phase of a business and Eva-Last presents opportunities that match my nature as a salesman at heart. This is a young, vibrant organisation with no ceiling on its business scope. I was also drawn to the incredible culture this organisation has. The sustainability ethos – helping to save the world one plank at a time through recycling plastics – is important to me and my family and to work at a company with that as a foundation was an added bonus.”
The role will see Bonner crafting a scalable growth plan after a complete review of Eva-Last’s current sales platform. “At the moment we’re one-step, two-step supplier and retailer. We want to move into a more structured bridge to the market through national stocking partners. This will see us setting up distribution agreements and platforms with major stockists where our loyal customers can access our brands in a larger and more convenient geography. But the aim is also to ensure the sustainability of the business and our entire value chain, by creating a seamless business transition between us as a supplier, dealers and the entrepreneurs who ultimately serve our end customers,” he says.
