Rise To The Occasion With Angostura!

ANGOSTURA© aromatic bitters has for years been the go-to ingredient when it came to all things cocktails. Today, it is still the number one ingredient when creating world-class cocktails, and the Ascension Sunday is in a class of its own!

An adaptation from the 2018 Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge winning cocktail, Ascension Sunday is a smoky and fresh citrus take on a cocktail that carries a rich roasted nut aroma and bitter taste.

Recreating this winner at home is easy bringing the perfect balance of sweet and sour enhanced with two dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters.


5ml Absinthe

37.5ml Mezcal

20ml Medium cream sherry

1 bar spoon Muscovado sugar (brown sugar)

Flesh of ¼ grapefruit

4 dashes Angostura Aromatic bitters


Muddle the grapefruit flesh, sugar, Absinthe, Mezcal and Sherry in the bottom of the highball glass. Add half a glass of crushed ice and stir three to four times and top with crushed ice.

Garnish: dehydrated grapefruit slice.
