No.1 is added to the chemical mix (bleach, lightener, hair colour etc.) and applied to the hair. It penetrates the hairs and rebuilds bonds as they are broken by the chemical service. OLAPLEX No.2 is used after a salon process to crosslink any broken bonds leftover from previous chemical services hair underwent, this allows the product to have double the effect in repairing damaged hair.
