South Africa finally has a one-stop shop for fun, fabulous and eco-friendly yoga and meditation accessories in the form of the online retail store www.billythebee.com.

“I noticed many yoga studios and places of meditation in Cape Town”, says Anupama (founder of www.billythebee.com ), “but limited opportunities to buy the accessories. I want to combine my love for yoga and meditation with the creativity that South Africa inspires. South Africa is the rainbow nation after all, why should yoga and meditation be any different”. She explained that she has gone through rigorous sourcing to obtain products which are of the best quality and are unique – not being mass-produced. Another feature of the products is that they are made, to greatest extent possible, with natural materials. An example of this is the jute yoga mat which is backed with natural rubber to ensure that it does not skid during the various yoga poses.

“Necessary arrangements have been made with our courier partners to ensure that our customers outside of Cape Town will receive the items as fast as possible at the lowest possible cost”, says Anupama.

Anupama has also created a blog linked to the online store. She writes a lot about the uses of the products she sells – expanding on uses of and general knowledge thereof. She also shares many recipes that have until this point, being handed down through her family. “I am a vegetarian, and believe that this is a good way to remain healthy. I want to share recipes that I have tried, tested and tweaked”
