At KAMERS/Makers Space this month’s Makers Mix reflects Heritage month in a rich cultural vein. This unique pop-up store has provided a platform for proudly local artisans to showcase thousands of products, from hand-crafted fashion, décor, jewellery, leather and ceramics to deli goods, quality artisanal coffee and more all in an unforgettable space. Wilfrid Moulin’s photography exhibition is the focal point of Hyde Park Corner’s Centre Court this month. A self-taught photographer, French-born Wilfrid studied Archaeology and History of Art at the Sorbonne in Paris and has worked in Paris as a stills photographer for some of the most prestigious names in the fashion and beauty industry. In 1997, he decided to settle in South Africa and today he co-owns Metropolitain Cosmetics and Métro Haute Parfumerie. Photography remains an abiding passion which provides a creative outlet. Whimsical and poignant black and white images depict his travels across the globe, exceptional buildings, enticing table settings, people, and landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. Wilfrid captures moments in black and white because he believes colour can distract from the emotion in the composition of the images. This collection of never seen before images – only 10 of each will be printed - can all be viewed until the end of September.
