Submitted by: Nicky Day-Anderson

MRS. NICKY DAY-ANDERSON MELONIE DU PLOOY DIRECTOR EASTERN CAPE FRANCHISEE 35 years in the Industry Admitted Attorney in the High Court IMM Diploma NQF7 in HR Management We’re not an actual political party, but you could say we have an agenda.

African Dream Staffing Solutions is a staffing agency on a mission to unite and empower people on their quest for work that inspires them, to create jobs that offer above average rates to our contractors and to be the job creation trailblazers in SA. African Dream Staffing Solutions is a leading supplier with offices in the Western and Eastern Cape, across all sectors, and offers a wide range of recruitment solutions to diversified clients, in both the public and private arenas.

With an elite talent pool and several distinct divisions, each run by experts in their respective fields, African Dream Staffing specializes in all areas such as finance & accounting, administration & operations, human resources, legal and warehouse & logistics.

The African Dream umbrella also includes five highly specialized subsidiary companies:

  1. STAFFSOURCE SOLUTIONS – Flexible and permanent outsourcing solutions
  2. ADBMS CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING SERVICES
  3. THE FIXER UPPER HANDYMAN SERVICES
  4. PROPMANSERV – Property Management and Maintenance Services
  5. CLUTTERCLEAN CLEANING SERVICES – Need commercial and industrial cleaning services?

The Fixer Upper Handyman Services, operating at present throughout the Western and Eastern Cape, are on a crusade to create jobs for handymen and women by outsourcing all services to them that are booked by clients via our head office service centre.

We are at present busy on an aggressive marketing campaign to bring in more work and more projects to ensure a steady flow of work that will be outsourced to our team members. There has been a growing need for handyman services which is attributed to several contributing factors which include, local demand, market influence, having second homes, commercial property maintenance and people's lives becoming busier and more hectic with more people now looking for help with odd-jobs around their home, like changing light fittings, or putting up shelves.

The existing handyman services solutions striving to solve this problem are defragmented offering contacts scattered in the web and there is no structured method of determining the location and quality of service provided by these handymen. Also the increase in the number of older people who wish to keep on living in their homes is a factor for the growth in the industry and younger families with children of school-age who choose to renovate and remodel their homes, instead of moving out to look for new homes in the real estate market with its high price.

Overall, South Africa’s labour market has failed to gain any meaningful traction over the past few years with the unemployment rate, especially for the youth, remaining exceedingly high by global standards I want people and businesses to realise that you can't change unemployment if you don’t tackle skills, and that's why skill-building has been very instrumental in this initiative. We offer online training to all our team members that cover subjects such as client service, communication, understanding the handymen industry and much more. Team members who do not have experience will be sent out on assignments with our qualified tradesman to learn the trade one job at a time.

We are also investigating avenues where training is offered in this industry where we can enrol our younger and inexperienced team members. This industry will keep on thriving in the coming years because we are committed to providing reliable and quality work for customers in the home repair and property services they render. The market is highly unsaturated and there is room for growth as the industry is expanding and maturing. "We’ve built our company recognizing that people are our most important asset – whether they are our employees, our clients, or our candidates." We have a deep understanding of our clients’ technical environments, project goals, and business strategies.

“We’ve built our company recognizing that people are our most important asset – whether they are our contract team members, our clients, or our candidates,” says Nicky. “This principle has been the foundation of our success, and it will continue to define the essence of African Dream Staffing Solutions, as we keep evolving in the next 10 years and onwards. The best is yet to come.” GROW YOUR PEOPLE, GROW YOUR BUSINESS While the company has continuously evolved with the market, the focus on people and relationships hasn’t changed.

“There are no limits here,” says managing director Nicky Day-Anderson. “That is what our business model is predicated upon. We’re committed to helping people reach their full potential.”
