SA singer to speak at Entrepreneurs World Cup

Written by
Local SA singer/songwriter, Verity, is set to represent South Africa at the Entrepreneurs World Cup in London and Antwerp 26-29 November 2009, speaking to 1200 plus international business owners.
Teaming up the worlds leading experts on 4 of the hottest topics of the moment - Internet Marketing, Sales, Leadership and Wealth Creation. Verity, who gained acclaim for her alternative album funding model “The Lucky Packet Project”, has found success as a speaker on innovation, and will be explaining how she developed her unique alternative online funding model for her debut album, “Journey”.

EWC organiser Bram Selleslach explained that “as organiser of the soon to be N°1 Business Seminar in Europe, I am constantly looking for outstanding individuals who live their story. Verity is a prime example of how someone can become successful by seizing every opportunity. Her story, beliefs, enthusiasm and music can truly inspire people to harness their inner potential and become successful as an entrepreneur and as a person in today’s world. I am privileged that she will share the stage as a speaker and performer with some of the most extraordinary minds and speakers on the planet at the Entrepreneurs World Cup.”

The EWC will showcase some of the world's best speakers and takes place simultaneously in London and Antwerp. All confirmed speakers will present talks in both cities, explaining the secrets behind their entrepreneurial success. Verity first hit the headlines in South Africa as an innovative entrepreneur, when she sold her debut album 'Journey' online before recording it. She released the album nationwide in August 2008 after over 2000 people in 25 countries pre-bought it and she had paid R30,000 towards women empowerment & artist upliftment charities. Verity will be closing two seminars in each city at the EWC with her talk and also performing songs from her album 'Journey' which will be on sale for delegates to buy.

Back at home, Verity recently spoke at the Annual SA Innovation Summit and has also been confirmed as one of the key speakers at TEDxJohannesburg – an independent event run under the umbrella of “Here at TEDxJohannesburg, we feel fortunate to have Verity as a speaker. She brings music, innovation and upliftment to our stage. Her fresh outlook, powerful good works and inspiring story will no doubt help bring hope to others, by showing that if only you allow yourself to dream big, think out-the-box and follow through, you really can make a difference to oneself, people you know and those you've never even met.” ( Alicia Thomas-Woolf, Organiser TEDxJohannesburg 2009)

Notes to Editor:
While Verity's success as a speaker on innovation sees her traveling nationally and abroad more regularly, her career as a musician also continues to flourish. Her band Verity & The Shades have recently been sponsored by Von Zipper, are performing at ZIMFEST 2009 on November 21st and plan to record their second album early next year. She will once again be using the internet and new technologies as her platform to keep innovating and being a trail blazer in the music industry.
