The main objectives of SARSU are listed on their extensive website and includes issues relating to development, club support, community involvement and general supporter’s interests. The Board of Directors and Management Committee of SARSU, which is a section 21 non-profit organisation, is comprised of various individuals who are prominent in their own right in different industries including marketing, IT, the legal profession and media. Full details of the BOD is available at www.sarsu.org . The media launch formed part of an initial campaign to introduce SARSU to the public and rugby stakeholders at large. “Once we have sufficient members as well as committed sponsorship and support, out intention is to hold a significant launch event which will include the key stakeholders of SA Rugby,” said David. The media briefing was attended by Dalisizwe Ndebele, Chairman of the Soweto Rugby Club. “I wish to add my support to the SARSU venture. Just like the Soweto Rugby Club is trying to establish itself as an entity in SA Rugby and we hope to grow into a Club that can perform at the highest level, so is SARSU’s aim to develop into a meaningful organisation in terms of its set goals,” said Dali. David called on sponsors, rugby stakeholders and supporters alike to visit the SARSU website to find out more about the organisation and to pledge their support in the interest of South African Rugby and the South African rugby supporter.
